The East Carmarthen Beekeepers Association is a group of friendly people who have an interest in bees. The ECBKA is affiliated to the Welsh Beekeepers Association.
The aim of the Association is to promote beekeeping, encourage new beekeepers and raise the awareness of the importance of bees in the natural world.
The Association provides:
- A body of expertise in beekeeping
- A forum for discussion
- Regular summer meetings in the Association Apiary
- Monthly meetings for talks and lectures
- An Apiary for demonstrations and education and also providing new members with a first experience of keeping bees
- An annual Honey show and stands at local agricultural shows
- A library of useful books
- Arrangements for insurance
- Beekeeping classes and support in study for advancing beekeeping knowledge and skills
- Interaction with other groups (schools, youth associations, societies and other beekeeping associations)
- A supply of honey for sale
